She looks like a "professional" and her bike is an apt metaphor.

It could be a C model. There was no difference between the two aside from where each was produced.

Really? I had the idea that the C already had the 6 .50 cal mounted, while the A and B only have 4.

I might be wrong, of course. :/

The A had 6 .50 cals. 4 were in the wing and the other two were mounted in the low nose.

I see. But didn't the B models only have 4 MGs, two on each wing?

I might be wrong, but that was the impression I had. :/

Yep. So did the C models, although some sources say the C model Mustangs had six MG's in the wings, even though they only had four.

Interesting. I actually had the idea the C's only had 4 MGs, and several pics I have here show exactly that. But, yeah, some sources seem to confound things.

You're right.
Was the P-51A not called A-36 in the USAAF? And it was desgnated to be a diving bomber ?

500 P-51A Mustangs were converted into dive-bombers with stiffened airframes, dive brakes, and bomb racks. These still had the 4 .50 cals in the wings as well as the chin .50 cals.

I think the 51C weres mostly built for the RAF with the denomination "Mustang MKII"... There were no differences between the two aircraft.

The Mustang Mk. II was the P-51A in American service. The Mk. III was the P-51B and the C, armed with 4 .50 cal machine guns.
